Caloritech™ CX Replacement Boiler Flange Heaters are
Caloritech™ Flange Heaters are available in three different series.
CXC Series
Caloritech™ CXC Flange Heaters are used primarily for water heating applications and feature copper sheathed elements silver brazed to a steel flange.
CXI Series
Caloritech™ CXI Flange Heaters are well suited for heating water, especially in hot water and steam boilers, as well as heating mildly corrosive solutions in rinse tanks, spray washers, etc. The heater features incoloy® sheathed elements silver brazed to steel flange.
CXF Series
Caloritech™ CXF Flange Heaters are used primarily for heating applications involving oils, gases and mildly corrosive liquids. They are constructed of incoloy® sheathed elements silver brazed to a steel flange, similar to the CXI Flange Heater. However, the CXF model is lower density and more suitable for stagnant or heavy oils, or for high temperature, low flow gas heating
Product Details
- Manufacturer: Caloritech (a brand under the Thermon umbrella).
- Type: Industrial immersion heaters (both flange-mounted and screwplug versions are available).
- Application: Primarily used for heating water, especially in hot water and steam boilers, as well as mildly corrosive solutions found in industrial processes like produced water treatment in the oil and gas industry.
- Materials: According to Thermon's industrial solutions page, they feature Incoloy® sheathed elements silver brazed or welded to a steel flange, making them suitable for demanding environments.
- Watt Density: They generally have a low to medium watt density (e.g., 10-20 W/in²), which helps prevent overheating of the liquid and extends the heater's lifespan.
- Safety: They are available with explosion-proof terminal boxes and NEMA 4 enclosures for use in hazardous or wet locations.
- Efficiency: Like most electric heaters, at the point of use, they are nearly 100% efficient as all electrical energy is converted into heat.
